Scholarships

The Heavenly Ski & Snowboard Foundation is pleased to work in cooperation with Heavenly Mountain and the Lake Tahoe community to provide scholarships to those athletes’ whose families would otherwise not be able to afford competitive training. Over the past five years HSSF has awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships.

The independent HSSF Scholarship Committee meets each year in October to review scholarship applications and to distribute scholarship monies the Foundation has set aside for need-based athletes. This committee is made-up of individuals involved in our community, not parents, coaches, board members or administration.

In addition to awarding scholarship monies the HSSF Scholarship Committee generates a recommendation for Heavenly Resort to approve regarding awarding season mountain passes. The passes are strictly discretionary on part of Heavenly Resort based on confirmation of committee recommendation.
